India and Nepal signed 8 (MoUs)



India and Nepal signed 8 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on the second day of the neighbouring country's visiting Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba here today.

The  8 MoUs signed are:

1.    Modalities for utilization of India's housing grant component to support reconstruction of 50,000 houses.

2.    Three MoUs on Implementation of the Grant Component of India’s Post-Earthquake Reconstruction Package in the Education Sector, Cultural Heritage Sector and Health Sector in Nepal.

3.    MoU for Implementation Arrangement for Construction of Mechi Bridge under ADB’s SASEC Road Connectivity Programme (Tranche 2), Funded by India

4. Drug demand reduction and prevention of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursor chemical and related matters.


5.    Agreement on cooperation in the field of standardisation and conformity assessment.

6.    An MoU was signed between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal.
